The Improved type Kilner Jar is identified by the glass lid fitting inside the neck of
the jar. Most jars have the words "The Kilner Jar Improved Type" molded into the
glass and two vertical lines on opposite sides molded in.
The neck of the jar measures 57mm or 2 3/16 inches inside and the rubber sealing ring measures 56mm id and 64mm od
or 2 3/16 inches id and 2 9/16 inches od. The neck size is the same on all capacities of jars.
New white rubber sealing rings are sold in units of 10 for £11.07 with a postage cost of £1.35 for up to 4 units.
